World Water Day is just around the corner, on March 22nd, and it serves as a powerful reminder of the pressing need for safe, accessible water around the globe. This day invites us to reflect on God’s calling to care for the least of these, as Jesus reminds us in Matthew 25:40, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Providing clean water to those in need is not just an act of charity—it’s a reflection of our calling as stewards of God's blessings.
At Fountains of Hope, we believe that clean water is not a luxury, but a fundamental human right. It's a gift from God that everyone, no matter where they live, deserves to have access to. As I travel around the world, installing life-saving water purification systems, I am continually reminded of the profound impact this work has on communities. Every place I visit tells a story—a story of people who have lived without reliable access to clean water, and how their lives change when that access is finally provided.
I’ve seen the joy in the eyes of mothers who no longer worry about their children falling ill from dirty water. I’ve heard the relief in the voices of teachers whose students no longer have to spend hours each day walking to distant wells. And I’ve felt the hope that rises in communities when they realize that the gift of clean water is no longer a dream, but a reality. This is why our mission is so vital, and why, as I meet with these churches, schools and communities, I am reminded that the journey is far from over. There are still countless communities without access to safe water, and we have much more to do.
The good news is that we don’t have to do it alone. When we come together in faith and action, we can make a tangible, lasting impact. At Fountains of Hope, our mission is simple: to provide sustainable water solutions to communities in need. But we know that achieving lasting change requires more than just one-time efforts—it requires committed, ongoing support.
That’s why we are excited to invite you to join us in a new way this March. As part of our goal to add 25 new monthly donors to our program, we are asking you to consider becoming a Monthly Donor. Your recurring donation will help us provide long-term, sustainable solutions to the global water crisis. With your support, we can continue to plan, build, and implement water purification systems that empower individuals, promote health education, and strengthen entire communities.
Here’s how you can help:
A donation of $100 a month from 10 people will fund two water purification systems.
20 people giving $25 a month will collectively fund one two-tank water purification system.
Each water purification system serves an estimated 1,000 to 1,500 people, providing them with one gallon of safe, clean water every day. For just $25 a month, your gift can provide 1,200 gallons of clean water each month. That’s 1,200 opportunities for families to drink safe water, to thrive, and to be empowered to live healthier lives.
As I prepare to return from Ecaudor, I am more convinced than ever that the work we do together is transforming lives. It’s not just about water; it’s about the dignity that comes with it. It’s about the opportunity for children to go to school without falling ill, for families to grow and thrive in healthier conditions, and for entire communities to be uplifted and strengthened by something as simple, yet as profound, as access to clean water.
This World Water Day, we invite you to be a part of something greater than yourself. By becoming a Monthly Donor, you’ll help expand our reach, bringing life-saving water to even more communities in need. Through your generosity, you become the hands and feet of Jesus, sharing His love in practical, life-changing ways. As Jesus said, "Whoever is thirsty, let them come to me and drink" (John 7:37). Together, we can create a future where everyone has access to the clean water they need—a future that reflects God’s love for all people.
We can’t do it without you. Join us today, and together, let’s create a future where clean water is accessible to everyone, everywhere.
With gratitude,
Bill Farrar
